What's RPET
PET is formally called polyethylene glycol terephthalate, is a type of line-type saturation polyester resin. The PET material are characterized with high transparency , good stretching and good isolation. It has become the mainstream packaging material for all kinds of food, drinks, edible oil, chemical products and medical products. It has almost replaced glass packaging in a number of industries.
Recycled PET is the reprocessing of waste PET bottles to produce recycled PET, filament, short fiber or RPET flake. These material can be manufactured into various type of fabrics and plastic products.
RPET Significance
It takes 450 years for a PET bottle to degrade under the ground and 1kg of PET bottle consumes 0.8 litre of crude oil. The excessive use of PET bottles has brought serious damage to the environment and the resources.
Recycling is the most common method used to reduce carbon emission nowadays. The method of recycling PET bottles to further produce into PET fibre are widely used on the textile industry. Recycling a one-liter PET bottle reduces 0.042kg of CO2 emission. Every 20 PET bottles recycled can be further processed into a summer T-shirt.
The great use of coal and petroleum by different countries has produced huge amount of CO2. And this lead to the average temperature increase of more than 1.5 C on the earth. The global warming is becoming more and more serious. Usage of RPET
RPET is widely used. The cloth made from RPET can be used for packaging, garment, cap/hat, tent, umbrella, carpet, football, shoe material, curtain, furniture flooring and building material etc. The PET flakes can be used on plastic products such as cups, chairs and glasses etc.
The RPET products from Boerdi has passed a series of third party audit inspection. The whole production process, from recycled bottles, smashed chips, yarn to final products, was audited by ITS or SCS. The reprocessed plastic, which is a food grade recycled PET flakes, is inspected by FDA.
